What a band session comes with
- The engineer in the room the whole time, and the room patched from your input list before you arrive
- Setup and line checks before your paid time starts
- Every player on their own track: live together, to a click, or one part at a time
- A rough mix before you go, and every stem, labelled, in one Google Drive folder within 24 hours
Before the day
Send the input list the day before
Who plays what and how many of each; anything with its own output, like keys, pedalboards, a drum machine or a laptop running tracks; and whether you record together, to a click, or one part at a time.
Rehearsed and tight
Everybody knows the arrangement. Tempos written down if you record to a click; we load them before you play. The songs picked and in order: the best takes come early, before ears tire.
Know what it is meant to sound like
One or two reference recordings for the sound you are after, and whether we mix it here afterwards or you take the tracks.
On the day
Arrive twenty minutes early to load in. Park anywhere in the plaza lot, free. Bring your instruments, the cables you trust, spare strings and sticks; new strings and heads the day before, not in the session.
The live room and the desk
Actual photographs of the rooms you book. More of them on the studio page.
Questions
How much is a band session?
$100 an hour with the engineer, for 3 hours or more. The 4-hour package is $349 and the 8-hour package is $599, each half at booking and half at the session.
Why three hours at the least?
Setup is most of the first hour of any band session, and the whole band is on the same clock. Setup and line checks happen before your paid time starts; three hours is the least a session takes to leave with takes rather than a rehearsal.
Do we all play at once?
Your call: live together, to a click, or one part at a time. Every player goes to their own track either way. Tell us which when you send the input list.
What should we send before the day?
The input list, the day before: who plays what and how many of each, anything with its own output, and whether you record together, to a click, or one part at a time. We patch the room before you arrive, so the first hour goes on playing.
What should we bring?
Your instruments, the cables you trust, spare strings and sticks, with new strings and heads put on the day before. Arrive twenty minutes early to load in; parking in the plaza lot is free.
What do we leave with?
A rough mix before you go, and every stem, labelled, in one Google Drive folder within 24 hours of the session ending. Say whether we mix it here afterwards or you take the tracks.
The rest of the studio: recording sessions, beat production, mixing and mastering, studio time without an engineer, and the studio for Daytona Beach and the towns around it.
